The Migrant Sanctuary

September, 2007 dedication for the living memorial in the courtyard at Tucson’s Southside Presbyterian church for the thousands of people who have died in our deserts.
The congregation placed over 200 stones representing the people who have died during within the past year, one by one, at the base of the shrine.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to visit the church courtyard and add a stone after 9:00 A.M.  Sunday mornings.  Over time, the mound may build to over 3000 stones marking the passing of countless souls.
